Planning in Power BI - what does it actually look like?
In this short video, you see planning in Power BI using a real report with standard visuals like charts, slicers, and KPI cards - and a planning experience embedded directly inside Power BI.
The video shows how users can do sales planning in Power BI, including sales volumes, prices, and revenue by product and customer. Data entry happens directly in the Power BI interface, with full row-level security using Microsoft Entra ID, without leaving Power BI.
When values are updated and saved, the planned data becomes part of the Power BI semantic model. This means the same planning data is immediately available across other reports, dashboards, and visuals in Power BI.
This example shows how organizations can move budgeting and forecasting from spreadsheets into Power BI, combining reporting and planning in one environment.
