With the Electoral Commission redrawing the boundaries of Dublin Central, Mary-Lou McDonald TD would seem to be a racing certainty to be returned at the next General Election, scheduled for 20121.
To consolidate her political status within the electorate, she recently opened a new constituency office on North Strand Road, beside the Five Lamps. The event was given essential prominence by engaging Dublin's newly installed Lord Mayor Cllr. Mícheál MacDonncha (SF, Donaghmede) to do the honours. The ribbon cutting was performed withy aplombby Republican legend, Nicky Keogh who impressed upon those present that they could rely on Mary-Lou as a politician who would deliver on her promises.
They were joined by many well wishers from the area, together with members of the local business community.
