The movie "Supercell" is an American action and disaster film released in 2023. The film is directed by Herbert James Winterstern and stars Skeet Ulrich, Ann Heche, Daniel Diemer, Jordan Kristine Seamón, and Alec Baldwin. The movie tells the story of Will Brody, a teenager trying to reconnect with his deceased father's former storm-chasing scientist mother. This comes after his father's death in a plane crash while pursuing a tornado. Will discovers his parents' invention to detect a storm's pulse and takes it to school on a stormy day. Upon returning home, he receives a message from an old friend of his parents, known as his Uncle Roy. Roy suggests Will join a storm-chasing expedition, and the proposal is accepted. Will's mother realizes her son is missing and contacts the police, who say they can't do anything. She discovers he's with Uncle Roy and goes searching for him. During the expedition, the team encounters a severe storm, causing the van they're in to crash. They find another van and stop at a gas station to refuel for the next storm chase. While at the gas station, another warning is issued, and Roy and his team leave to pursue the storm. Will goes to watch the storm and notices his popcorn flying straight up, indicating the storm is above him. He flees to a photo booth for shelter, but the storm hits the booth, leaving him in bad shape. News reporters approach him to ask about his experience, noting that he's the son of the famous storm chaser who died 10 years ago.
