This webinar introduced the OECD Best Practice Guide on Chemical Data Sharing Between Companies, which builds on earlier OECD work on access to and protection of proprietary rights and provides practical guidance on data sharing between companies. The guide focuses on situations where companies are required, or choose, to share existing non-clinical health, safety and environmental data for regulatory purposes. It distinguishes between cases where legal obligations to own, access or use data apply and cases where no such obligations exist, and sets out considerations for structuring data-sharing arrangements that are transparent, workable and consistent with regulatory and commercial frameworks.

The webinar presented the key messages of the guide and shared practical perspectives from panellists on how chemical data sharing is addressed in different regulatory contexts.
