Please allow me to introduce you to my beautiful Emonda SLR 8 Disc, recently given to me, very kindly by our long term bike partners, Trek. You may have seen me recently attempting to show off on this bike, I used it on how to wheelie, I used it on how to bunny hop, and I also used it on how to track stand.

Somewhat annoyingly, this bike does gets a lot more attention than I do, when I'm out riding on it. This is a project one, custom paint design, with solid charcoal and radioactive orange. The exact frame set that I'm using is a 58 centimeter H1, which is Trek's racing geometry, so, a smaller head tube to allow you to get lower at the front end.

This is a bar and stem that Si and I experimented with on our stem length video a few weeks back, and I actually loved riding and descending with the 14 centimeter Pro vibe stem, so I've stuck with that and indeed with the Vibe carbon-fiber handlebars too, which are size 42 centimeter.

The frame in a size 56, comes in at just 665 grams, a few more perhaps for a size 58. And the forks are 350 grams, less actually, when I cut the steerer tube down. That means that together, here, we have a disc brake frame set which tips the scales at only just over 1000 grams, which really is quite remarkable.

This is Shimano's new Dura-Ace Di2 9170, which is of course, the disc brake version, it works flawlessly, it looks good and it's very light to boot.

I've got a new saddle up here, this is the new Fi'zi:k R1 Antares Versus EVO. Early days for me, with this saddle but I've been riding it here in Cape Town a little bit with team Dimension Data and so far very much, so good, it's seems to be very comfortable indeed.

Onto the wheels then which are provided by Vision, these are their Metron 40 disc versions, with those 28 millimeters Continental 4000s on them too, and a load of clearance on the frame, that also means that this bike is very much capable of doing some gravel riding as well, which is something I particularly enjoy. I'm currently running these at just 60 PSI.

Now as a few finishing touches, and the bottle cages came with the bike, they're from Bontrager its the XXX model, and at the front end I've got my ever trusty Wahoo Elemnt head unit, and that leaves me, I think, with just one thing, that I should talk about, the pedals. You've probably noticed them, they are Shimano's top of the range Dura-Ace pedal, from 2009.
