Stories of Hope | Ep. 02: Joey Schting (Liver Recipient)

Описание: After a series of three collapsing incidents within a couple of hours, Joey was notified by a doctor in the emergency room that the small veins that ran to his liver had swollen and burst, which caused him to lose half of the blood within his body. Unknowingly to him, he has been bleeding for about a week. It was such a severe case that he later had to be placed on the national transplant waiting list in need of a liver transplant. Now a five-year liver recipient, Joey joins ARTavius and chats about her journey to transplantation on the second episode of the “Stories of Hope podcast.”


Stories of Hope is the debut podcast from Mid-South Transplant Foundation. An interview-style podcast about individuals and families affected by organ & tissue donation. To give hope, spread awareness, and encourage others to become registered organ and tissue donors. ARTavius Veasey (Tay), a 16-year post-kidney transplant recipient and communications coordinator, chats with other transplant recipients, patients, and families about their trials and tribulations towards transplantation.
