**I've been corrected several times about the first chain not counting as 1. This is how I learned to count years ago from my grandmother. You'll notice if you follow me I constantly have issues counting my chains having learned this way when I was 7 years old.**
You should still chain 37, start your sc from the second ch from the hook, and you will end up with 36 sc on row 1 (I only actually have 35, not 36), and you don't have to work into your turning chain like I do. I hope that helps.***
