"Twenty-three steps. From one side of my room to the other. What may be the most straightforward of walks for one, is the most hardened for another. Working with and against the obstacles in my path, this is the passage to get to what calls me. The allowance to sit in the darkness and explore what comes of it."
Similitude was performed live at the Trajectories End Event at Civic House on 1 July 2022 – an evening of live performances, installations and interactive experiences exploring belonging, place and Glasgow. Trajectories was a young artist development programme founded on community building, intersectional collaboration and mutual learning exchange. Across 10 weeks, five selected artists formed a collaborative learning community to explore the forms and ethics of their arts practice, supported by industry professionals who led them through specialist workshops, creative provocations and skill-sharing sessions week-to-week.
