This song was originally recorded in A Major, in Standard tuning. The tape was slowed down which makes it appear to be played in Ab tuning. I teach this lesson in A Major, so that you will not need to re-tune your guitar in order to practice along to this video. Please speak fondly of me after I pass.
The guitar should be tuned as follows:
6th string (thickest)- E
5th string A
4th string D
3rd string G
2nd string B
1st string (thinnest) E
Chords:
Intro:

Released in 1970 as the B-side of "Immigrant Song", it is Led Zeppelin's only non-album track released during the band's existence. "Hey Hey What Can I Do" was rarely heard of in the days before Google and YouTube allowed one to do a complete search for rarities. While many large markets such as Detroit, Chicago, New York, and LA played this record throughout the 1970's and 1980's, many radio listeners in both the UK and USA did not learn of this record until the 1990's. The song was first released on CD in October 1990 on the 4-CD Led Zeppelin box set collection. In 1992 as a 20th anniversary release, "Immigrant Song"/"Hey, Hey What Can I Do" was released as a "vinyl replica" CD single. In 1993, "Hey, Hey What Can I Do" was included on The Complete Studio Recordings 10-CD boxed set, as one of four bonus tracks on the Coda disc. Now considered a favorite among Led Zeppelin fans, It is hard to imagine the band considered this track as substandard.
The purpose of the lessons on this channel is to keep the length of my instructional videos to a minimum to allow you to quickly learn the song and spend more time playing! A basic knowledge of chords and techniques, therefore, is already assumed.

I will do my best to get all lesson requests filmed as quickly and thoroughly as possible.
