The Quartetto Cherubini performs the Prélude, the opening movement of the Suite for Saxophone Quartet by Jean Françaix.
As the introductory movement of the Suite, the Prélude establishes the work’s character through concise gestures, light textures, and refined rhythmic interplay, elements that are central to Françaix’s compositional style.
This live recording was made on 5 November 2025 at the Auditorium of the Conservatorio “Arrigo Boito” in Parma, as part of the recital for the Second Level Master in Advanced Chamber Music Performance.
