Looking for lunch in Jakarta? Head to Bakso Mas Kumis for a hot, filling bowl of bakso soup. Bakso is the Indonesian word for meatball. This meatball takes on a texture and taste of its own; it is not the same as an Italian meatball. In this episode, we try bakso sapi, or beef meatball soup. If you saw our Toraja Playlist, we had bakso babi, or pork meatball soup. And, depending on your interest, you can also find chicken meatballs in Indonesia, too. We haven’t found vegetarian meatballs, but that doesn't mean they don’t exist. If there are vegetarian (tempe/ tahu) meatballs in Indonesia, let us know in the comments.
