Oh, the pain and distress of the blown capacitor, the drifting oscillator and the ‘You have to switch it on an hour before you need to use it and don’t look at it in a funny way or it won’t work... Hold on, what’s that smell? And that blue smoke? SWITCH IT OFF! SWITCH IT OFF! PULL THE PLUG OUT THE MAINS, IT’S A DEATH TRAP!!!’.
Luckily for us, we have Dave to help us out. Dave brings kaput specimens of early synthesis back to life in his shed, using a skilful combination of a soldering iron, bits and pieces, fine coffee and magick.
