"Forensic Soil Analysis" is a school webinar designed to engage Key Stage 3 students (ages 11-14) with forensic geoscience in an accessible way.
In this webinar, Duncan Pirrie discusses the use of soil as evidence in criminal investigations; what soil is and why it varies; soil trace evidence from crime scenes and clothing/footwear; methods of analysis (colour, particle size, chemistry, minerals, pollen); hypothesis testing and evaluation.
It was part of our "CSI: Geoscience" programme, developed with the Forensic Geoscience Group.
