NSW acting Premier urges people to get tested as state records 8 new COVID cases

Описание: New South Wales acting Premier John Barilaro has highlighted the need to increase testing numbers after eight new locally-acquired coronavirus cases were recorded in the past 24-hours.

More than 18,000 people were tested for coronavirus up to 8:00pm on Saturday night, but Mr Barilaro said there needs to be an increase in those testing numbers.

"The success of this state has come off the back of the large number of testing that's been happening right across the state," he said.

The state recorded 11 new cases, three of which are from overseas travellers who are in hotel quarantine, and eight are locally-acquired.

Two of the new locally-acquired cases are household contacts of the Avalon cluster, while five are connected to the Western Sydney Berala Cluster, as well as one household contact from a known source in Wollongong.
