Why 24 Keys if Bach Applied Werckmeister 1707 (=Equal Temperament)?

Описание: As in the previous video on a possible J.S.Bach temperament (   • The Bach Temperament : Time to Demystify?  ), I shared with you my reading of some contemporary sources, massively following Werckmeister's posthumous published "Wohltemperierte" Stimmung (temperament) 1707. In that (remarkable little known) document, Werckmeister connects the use of 24 keys to a temperament in which one have to diminish all fifths by a 1/12. Clear description of Equal Temperament. Period. Many others would follow the same line, Neidhardt would speak about Gleichschwebend (equal temparement), and one will find in fact no exception throughout the whole 18th century.
So, in today's practice, where we tie the temperament and the resulting thirds to the character of the keys (something you'll probably not find sources on to cover that), people started to ask: well: why compose in 24 keys if every key sounds theoretical the same?

The answer is far from mystical. At least I believe. I'll talk you through my view in less than 10 minutes (thumbs up for myself :-) )
