January 26 means different things to different people.
I was at the Jan 26 rally in Perth at Forrest Chase — a day that carries pain, truth, resistance, and strength for First Nations people. While parts of the day were overshadowed by a negative incident, what I witnessed was something much bigger: community, unity, culture, and people standing together with purpose.
This video isn’t about sensational headlines or clickbait narratives. It’s about what was really happening on the ground — families, Elders, young people, allies, and mob showing up with pride, respect, and love for our people and our future.
Too often, Indigenous voices are framed through fear or division. This is my perspective from being there — reclaiming the story, centring positivity, and showing the strength that doesn’t always make the news.
