The Tragedy of Karbala (October 10, 680 AD / 10 Muharram 61 AH) is the heartbreak of history. It was the day when 72 noble souls stood against an army of thousands in the scorching desert of Iraq.

This track, "Betrayal of Kufa," is a sorrowful historical lamentation. It tells the story of broken promises, where ink turned into blood, and the waters of the Euphrates were denied to the Family of the Prophet.

⚔️ The Historical Context: What Happened? Upon the death of Muawiyah, his son Yazid I demanded allegiance (Bay'ah) from Imam Huseyn, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. Refusing to legitimize tyranny and corruption, Imam Huseyn left Medina for Mecca.

During this time, the people of Kufa (Iraq) sent over 18,000 letters pleading for him to come and lead them against the tyrant. Trusting their word, he marched toward them. But by the time he arrived, Kufa had succumbed to fear and bribery. The very people who invited him either abandoned him or joined the army sent to kill him.

🦁 Who is Imam Huseyn (r.a)?

The Lineage: The son of Ali ibn Abi Talib (r.a) and Fatima al-Zahra (r.a). The beloved grandson whom the Prophet used to carry on his shoulders.

The Title: Sayyid al-Shuhada (Master of Martyrs).

The Symbol: He represents the ultimate stance of truth against power, choosing death with dignity over a life of humiliation.

The Tragedy: Surrounded in the desert of Karbala, Imam Huseyn and his family (the Ahlulbayt) were cut off from the Euphrates river for three days. They fought with a thirst that burned their throats, yet their spirits remained unbreakable until the very end.

Ancak Kerbela çölüne vardığında, kendisine "Gel, ordumuz emrindedir" diyenler, onu Yezid'in ordusuyla baş başa bıraktı. Bu eser; Fırat nehri akarken susuz bırakılan Ehlibeyt'in, sözünden dönenlere karşı olan sitemini ve "Zillet bizden uzaktır" (Heyhat minezzille) diyen o onurlu duruşu anlatır.
