The trains that were in the S6 S-Bahn line between Nuremberg and Neustadt an der Aisch were eventually replaced by BR 442 trains that came after some minor changes from the FTX and have been since on the line.
The BR 425 was the first train I took while moving into the city. The trains were amazing, a bit slow though but the motor sound and the spaciousness were the highlights! I don't have any information on their fate... But they were not in the best condition, especially on the exterior heading into their withdrawal from service.
