Port Sunlight: The Merseyside model village

La galleria d'arte, dedicata a Lady Lever, contiene alcune delle più belle opere d'arte presenti nel Regno Unito.
Christ Church è la chiesa del villaggio, costruita tra il 1902 e il 1904 in stile gotico con pietra locale.
Al suo esterno si trovano le tombe di Lever e di sua moglie Elizabeth, che riposano sotto una struttura a volta e statue di marmo realizzate in loro onore.
Un'altra area meravigliosa di Port Sunlight è la cosiddetta "The Dell". Essa si trova a pochi passi dalla fabbrica di sapone, a tutt'oggi in uso per la produzione di famose marche di prodotti detergenti e di igiene. All'area si accede dagli scalini di un ponte realizzato in pietra locale, e al suo interno troviamo giardini con numerose piante, grossi alberi e fiori.
Tutto il villaggio è caratterizzato da case aventi stili architettonici diversi e progettate singolarmente, alcune delle quali mostrate all'interno del video.
Purtroppo non è stata inclusa nelle riprese la bellissima fontana realizzata proprio di fronte alla galleria d'arte, che sfortunatamente era vuota durante le riprese per lavori di manutenzione.
Port Sunlight possiede anche un museo che custodisce al proprio interno parte della storia di questo bellissimo villaggio, e che presto vorremmo includere tra le nostre riprese.
Il video è stato girato in un giorno storico per il Regno Unito, lunedi 19 settembre 2022, ovvero il giorno in cui è stato celebrato il funerale di Sua Maestà Elisabetta II, a cui va un nostro pensiero e una menzione finale come tributo per i suoi settanta anni di onorato regno.

Port Sunlight is a fantastic village on the Wirral, in North West England. It was founded in 1888 by William Hesketh Lever to provide good quality houses and facilities for the employees of his factory, Lever Brothers, which produced Sunlight Soap that gave the name to the village. One of the most important monuments of the village is the War Memorial, dedicated to the memory of the employees of Lever Brothers who lost their lives in the First World War. All their names are shown on the monument and later, the names of those who died in the Second World War were added.
The Art Gallery, dedicated to the memory of Lady Lever, houses a large variety of artworks acquired by Lever.
Christ Church is the village church, built between 1902 and 1904 in the Gothic style with local stone.
In the churchyard we can see the tombs of Lever and his wife Elizabeth, who rest under a vaulted structure and marble statues made in their honor.
Another wonderful area of ​​Port Sunlight is "The Dell" which sits very close to the soap factory, still in use for the production of famous detergent and hygiene products. You can go into the area from the steps next to the ornate sandstone bridge.
The whole village is characterized by houses with different architectural styles and individually designed. Some of these buildings are shown in the video.
Unfortunately, the fountain in front of the Art Gallery was not included in the footage because it was empty for maintenance work.
Port Sunlight also has got a museum that preserves part of its history, and we'd like to film it soon.
