Sotai is a movement therapy practice that involves both single-person exercises and therapist-assisted movements. The basic idea of movement with awareness (Doshin) is something that those familiar with Feldenkrais method and other somatic practices often find familiar. The Sotai technique of movement against gentle resistance and holding an isometric contraction shares some core principles with Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), but key concepts such as moving in the direction of least resistance synchronized with the breathing are unique to Sotai.
This simple exercise can help restore balance and maintain vibrant health through simple natural movements.
