Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 276–277 draw a clear contrast between riba (interest) and charity (sadaqah). اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ declares that He destroys riba and increases charity, even if it may appear otherwise in worldly terms. اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ does not love those who persist in disbelief and sin.
The verses then describe the true believers those who believe, establish prayer, give zakat, and act righteously. For them, اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ promises a great reward, with no fear and no grief in the Hereafter.
