In our journey towards the massive integration of renewable energies, we need to ensure the protection & stability of future multi-terminal direct current (MTDC) electrical systems.
At SuperGrid Institute, we have developed an innovative direct current circuit breaker (DCCB) capable of breaking up to 525 kV. Using our unique High Power laboratory, we validated the technical specifications and design principles of our modular DCCB solution:
✔️ from 0.2 to 20 kA
✔️ internal commutation under 4 ms
