How to Reinstall macOS From Scratch

Tip #1. Use macOS Recovery
If you're using a Mac with Apple silicon, Shut down your Mac. Press and hold the power button on your Mac until you see the startup options screen. Click Options - Continue.

If you're using an Intel Mac, Turn off your Mac. Turn on your Mac and hold Command-R (alternatively, hold Option-Command-R or Shift-Option-Command-R). Keep holding the keys until the Apple logo or spinning globe appears.

Tip #2. Use a bootable installer
Download bootable installers from the official Apple Support website:

Drag the downloaded installer onto your external device
Double-click the installer icon - double-click the .pkg file - follow the on-screen instructions
