A section of squatters in the Ruai settlement scheme has refuted claims, allegedly published in a local publication suggesting the Renton company had officially taken possession of a 1,643 acre piece of land in Ruai sewage area. According to their chairman Abdi Fugicha,the land was legally acquired from the Nairobi city council on 14th September 1999 where they settled for 14 years before they were forcefully evicted from the land.
