This year's top ten of the world's worst-dressed women according to the
nearly-famous Mister Blackwell is headed by a man. Howard Stern, a
controversial radio disc jockey who has taken to appearing in dresses, headed the 36th batch of black marks drawn up by the annually voluble Blackwell, not to be confused with the British soup-maker. Presenting the little-coveted awards, the premeditatedly-controversial fashion designer and critic sneered that Stern's attire "looks like Godzilla impersonating Gypsy Rose Lee." Others mentioned in the louse-list were pop stars Courtney Love and Melissa Etheridge, actresses Drew Barrymore, Whoopi Goldberg, Diane Keaton, Jennifer Jason Leigh,
Emma Thompson and Christina Applegate...and Prince Charles' love interest, Camilla Parker-Bowles. She proved a rich source of ridicule for Blackwell. "We can only assume from her picture that Prince Charles likes women with big hips," he said...as opposed to Blackwell's own fans, who presumably like cynics with big lips. Former model Anna Nicole Smith won a special booby prize which he dubbed the "Dress for Success Award".
