In Atyrau, Kazakhstan, we provided a #SpecialisedTransport solution for a Gas-Chemical complex, which included the transportation of this enormous C3 splitter. Weighing in at 1050T and measuring 105,3m in length, it brought with it a huge array of challenges on it’s 47km journey to its new home at the complex.
The 20 strong Sarens team had to navigate power lines, gantry gates, traffic lights, lighting poles, and road signs – not to mention the traffic! We also had to partially block highways to create safe traffic diversions to facilitate the movement of a structure of such dimensions. The 64 axle lines of SPMT had a road speed of 3,5km/h and executed various sharp turns successfully and without incident.
