Connecticut’s Old State House in Hartford was built in 1796 and housed the state’s executive, judicial and legislative branches for more than 80 years. The stories of the site and building illustrate how the civic involvement of everyday citizens has shaped our state and national history.
This video will give your students an introduction to the history of our building and government in Connecticut. We encourage you to share this with your class as you prepare for your field trip to Connecticut’s Old State House!
