Das in den meisten Technischen Datenblättern angegebene Gewicht von 3,6 Tonnen bezieht sich auf den teildemontierten Auslieferungszustand ohne Kurbelwelle und ohne Schwungrad (wurden separat mitgeliefert) damit der Motor leichter vom Kunden abgeladen und auf das Fundament gehoben werden konnte.

The mostly in technical descriptions displayed weight of 3.6 tons refers to the condition while shipment. For shipment the crankshaft and the flywheel was disassembled. The heaviest part ,the cylinderhousing with pistons inside, still weighs 3.6 tons. So the engine could be transferred easier from the lorry to the foundation.

Anlassvorgang: Zylinder 1 wird vom Haupt-Einspritzventil (Vorkammer) auf Hilfs-Einspritzventil Direkteinspritzung) geschaltet.
Zusätzlich kann optional eine Lunte eingesetzt werden.
An Zylinder 2 wird die Ventilsteuerung auf Druckluftbetrieb umgeschaltet. Das bedeutet dass das Einlassventil deaktiviert ist. Stattdessen wird ein zusätzliches Ventil als Drucklufteinlass aktiviert.
Dieses Ventil wird auch über die Nockenwelle gesteuert. Die Kraftstoffeinspritzung für Zylinder 2 wird ebenfalls deaktiviert.
Wenn der Startvorgang beginnt, läuft Zylinder 2 durch gesteuerte Druckluftzyklen an und treibt Zylinder 1 an. Wenn Zylinder 1 angesprungen ist, wird Zylinder 2 von Druckluft- auf Normalbetrieb umgeschaltet. Zylinder 2 muss nun mit der im Vorkammerverfahren arbeitenden Hauptdüse anspringen. Bei grosser Kälte wird manuell erst noch für einige Kompressionszyklen die Einspritzung für Zylinder 2 unterdrückt, damit die Vorkammer durch Kompressionswärme vorgewärmt wird.
Wenn Zylinder 2 angesprungen ist und Aussetzer frei läuft, wird Zylinder 1 von der Hilfseinspritzdüse (Direkteinspritzung) auf die Hauptdüse (Vorkammer) umgeschaltet.
Damit ist der Startvorgang beendet.

The valve train of cylinder 2 need to be switched from standard operation to compressed air operation. This means the standard intake valve is deactivated. An additional, camshaft controlled, compressed air intake valve is activated.
Now the fuel injection of cylinder 2 is also deactivated.
When the start up by compressed air is running, cylinder 2 becomes propelled by controlled pressed air cycles. Hereby cylinder 1 becomes propelled by cylinder 2.
When cylinder 1 keeps running by combustion, cylinder 2 need tob e switched back from pressed air operation to standard operation.
Now, cylinder 2 must start up with combustions by using the main injection nozzle.
In case of deep temeratures the fuel injection can be suppressed for a number of compressing cycles, to warm up the pre combustion chamber by using the compression heat.
When cylinder 2 has started up running with laps free combustions, cylinder 1 will be switched from auxiliary injection nozzle (direct injection) to main injection nozzle (pre combustion chamber).
The starting procedure is completed.
