So what happens when you set up the drone to follow you, and there's an obstacle in the way? What if you get behind some trees, or a solid object and the drone 'loses' track of you?
The drone is affixed with LiDAR sensors; LiDAR, which stands for Light Detection and Ranging, is a remote sensing technology that uses laser light to measure distances and create detailed 3D representations of objects and landscapes. It sends laser pulses and will adjust accordingly so it won't collide with a solid object. Trees, light poles, other vehicles, buildings - the drone will avoid those as necessary; branches, not so much.
Since you selected the subject, whenever the drone loses 'sight' of the subject, it stops and hovers in place until you regain the controls again. As you can see in the end of the video, the drone lost me, but when I came back to it, it began to pick me up again and adjusted the camera.
