LiPo BATERIES CAN BE CONFUSING!!!! But by the end of this video, you should be able to confidently purchase, charge, fly, and take care of a lithium polymer battery for your RC aircraft or vehicle!

1. What the numbers/info on the battery mean
Chemistry (LiPo) - (what kind of battery)
Voltage (cell count) - (thrust/speed)
Capacity — Milliamp hours - (flight time)
C rating - (how quickly it can be charged and discharged) (Higher C rating will help give longer/more powerful "bursts" of thrust)
Balance lead - (used for safe charging)
Power lead - (main power connector to drone)

2. What to know when buying
Connector type
Voltage must match your specific need
mAh does not need to be exact

3. what to know when charging
Can burst into flame if overcharged
ALWAYS balance charge
Charge at a rate of 1C - (divide mAh of battery by 1000 to get the charge current in AmpHours) (1500mah x 1C = 1.5A or 1500mA)

4. what to know when flying
Battery will be damaged if overdischarged
If a battery is ruptured/damaged in a crash, it could catch fire
Try to end flights with 20% charge left over (about 3.7V per cell)
Don't fly with a battery that is very puffy or physically damaged
