Mookambika Temple, Karnataka : Located at kollur in the udupi district in the Indian state of Karnataka, mookambika temple is a hindu temple dedicated to mookambika devi. According to the historical accounts, the establishment of this temple is attributed to the supreme lord parmeshwara rather than to an individual person. The temple is estimated to be at least 1200 years old and is mentioned in conjuction with King Halugallu Veera Sangayya who installed an idol there. Recently, the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, M.G Ramachandran had gifted sword weighing half a kilogram to the mookambika temple. Also for the visitors, there are bus services from Mangalore and Udupi to kollur at regular intervals.
