Afro Anatolian Tales was invited by Iranian kamancheh virtuoso and bandleader Niusha Barimani to collaborate with her ensemble, Nushe Band, for a special performance at the 40th edition of the International Fajr Music Festival in Tehran.
With just two days of rehearsal, the musicians created and performed an entirely new repertoire, blending the rich musical heritage of Iran with the rhythmic language and textures of Afro-Anatolian traditions. The result was a powerful and inspiring concert at the iconic Vahdat Hall, marking the world premiere of Afro Anatolian Tales' new trio formation.
