Turtle Bay is a popular beach in the southeast of Mahé Island, and is known for its shallow, calm water and beautiful sandy surface. Turtle Bay, or also known as Au Cap Beach, is located near the village of Anse Aux Pins about 15 km from the capital Victoria. Thanks to the calm ocean surface, Turtle Bay is ideal for swimmers and snorkelers. Turtle Bay Beach is easily accessible, as it is located near one of the main coastal roads on Mahé. There are also bus stops and parking spaces near the beach. The beach is protected from the open ocean by a coral reef, which provides a gradual slope into the sea. Due to this fact, the beach is as popular with families as it is with couples looking for a romantic walk on the sand. The beach is often visited by locals to barbecue with their family on the beach and meet up with friends.
