Hi I’m Dylan with KE2 Therm Solutions, in this video, I’ll take you through the process for creating groups in Smart Access.
There are a couple of reasons why users group controllers.
At large facilities users often group the controllers to make them easier to find on their Smart Access site dashboard – grouping the controller by type, location in the building, or some other meaningful segment.
Creating virtual groups however, is used to view and receive reports for controllers that exist on different sites. More than likely, these are units you want to monitor more closely.
First, let’s look at creating groups on a site.
Click the plus sign on the far right of the site bar.
Click Add new group
Give the group a name. Click OK
Drag and drop controllers to the group.
Repeat for all the controllers you want in the group.
This grouping only applies to the account currently logged in.
If you want to undo the grouping, simply click the minus sign in the group window, to remove the group and start over.
Ok, that’s it for grouping on an individual site, now let’s create a virtual group of controllers that exist on different sites.
First, click on the hamburger menu to expand
Scroll down to groups.
Click Edit
Click ADD
Name the Group, click Save
Click on the building icon below.
The icon will change to a world. See below. This will display the virtual group created.
You can drag controllers from any “site” to the virtual group.
That’s it for creating site groups and virtual groups. We do have additional Smart Access videos, so be sure to check them out. Thanks for joining us.
