Some photographers wear that phrase like a badge of honor, as if it somehow makes them more authentic, more pure, or just… better than everyone else.
I don’t buy it.
Having worked through both film and digital photography, I’ve seen this argument evolve for decades. And the reality is: photography has always involved processing, interpretation, and creative decisions beyond just shutter speed, aperture, and ISO.
That doesn’t mean editing makes you better.
It also doesn’t mean avoiding editing makes you superior.
This video is about the strange elitism surrounding “straight out of camera” photography, why film was never truly untouched, and why people should probably stop looking down on each other over how they choose to make images.

Use what works for you.
Edit if you want.
Don’t edit if you don’t want to.
Just stop pretending one approach makes you morally superior.
