Are you looking for ways to compost or recycle your old Halloween pumpkins? Join us for The Great Pumpkin Rescue and help us reuse your discarded Jack-o-lanterns. Because we were unable to grow pumpkins on our small farm this year, we can use all the help we can get.
From breaking down your Halloween Pumpkins for compost and soil nutrients, to using old pumpkins to help feed our livestock, it is all part of the natural cycle. You can watch this short video to learn more about how we will recycle your used Halloween pumpkins and get a quick view of our local farm in Arizona.
Remember, we can still use pumpkins that are dried out, molding or look a little less than perfect. Our goal is to keep as many Halloween pumpkins out of the landfill as possible through recycling and compositing.
We will be accepting Pumpkins at Rover Elementary school in Tempe, October 1-6th. We will also at the Gilbert Farmers market with compost bins for your pumpkins on Saturday October 6.
