From the start of 2007 to the end of 2009 the Spanish national football team achieved 35 consecutive matches undefeated, a feat which they shared with Brazil and what was a world record at the time. Their achievements have led many experts and commentators to consider the 2008–2012 Spanish squad one of the best ever sides in the history of world football.
