Описание: I know I talk about "hours" here - but this is geared for an "industry" discussion - not a consumer discussion.

With consumers we talk total out the door, with staff we can talk hours, parts, complexities.

One of those complexities is testing and repairing #cars on a discount because the owner of the #car sees no value in what you provide.

If they don't see value in it? Why should you invest in it to provide it for free?

If the car isn't worth a $400 investment? Why would it matter anyway, its unlikely they'd invest $400 to fix the issue...

Unless of course, they are okay throwing parts at fixing the car, almost like throwing $100 bills into the wind.

And many will say its because of the reputation most #mechanic 's have. And that's probably well deserved as many couldn't diag a blown light bulb.

But can't everyone see it's a vicious cycle?

We give away testing, devaluing the industry, makes testing harder to sell.

Paying technicians is harder when we don't charge.

Next we develop compensation strategies that pay everyone in the business on its performance.

Testing is a major loser for everyone, so no one encourages it or tries to learn it.

No one is paid for it.

One day? This industry will look back and say "well that was stupid - we cut off our nose to spite our face"...

Maybe those who use these methods are only looking for massive growth now, to sell later, giving two hoots to the condition they left the industry in...

After all, #money heals all wounds...right?
