The Stonecoal dispersed camping area, located along the upper Shavers Fork of the Cheat River, has long been a popular area for anglers and other campers. The campground features 19 sites for RV’s and tents with a perfect view of the river. In the dispersed camping area are two vault toilets, and further towards the end of the road along the river is a natural spring for drinking water.
The campground received its name from the stream leading into the sites, called Stonecoal Run.
