At the request of devotees from Southeast Asia, the Dalai Lama, gave a teaching on the Four Noble Truths and an introduction to Buddhism. During the teaching, He emphasized on the practice of religion not based on compulsion, rather on individual contemplation and that religious practice should go beyond mere faith and prayer, stressing the importance of cultivating inner peace through an understanding of the mind and psychology, particularly in relation to the science of mind and achieving mental peace.
