Big Drop for India! Passport Power Falls in 2025 Henley Passport Index

Описание: India’s ranking in the 2025 Henley Passport Index has slipped to 85th position, a five-place fall from last year’s 80th rank. The decline reflects reduced global mobility, with Indian passport holders now enjoying visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to just 57 destinations. In contrast, Singapore continues to lead the world with a visa-free score of 193, followed by South Korea at 190 and Japan at 189. For the first time, the United States has been pushed out of the top 10, ranking 12th along with Malaysia. Across South Asia, India’s neighbours also perform modestly — Bangladesh ranks 100th, Pakistan 103rd, Nepal 101st, and Bhutan 92nd. The world’s weakest passport remains Afghanistan’s, offering access to only 24 countries. The Henley Passport Index, first launched in 2005, ranks passports based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), reflecting how powerful a passport is in granting international mobility.
