When we launched the Investor Summit 2025, one of the first people to agree to support us was Annabel Brodie-Smith, Head of Communications at the Association of Investment Companies, or AIC. And the panel she pulled together and expertly moderated was intended to showcase the different types of dividend income which Investment Trusts can deliver.
Annabel’s outstanding Investor Summit panel was titled: ‘The search for income: why investment trusts have the answers’. Her panel included: Sue Noffke, Schroder Income Growth Fund and Head of UK Equities at Schroder, Rhys Davies, Fund Manager at Invesco Bond Income Plus and David Bird, Co-Fund Manager at Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust.
Taking an average, Annabel says Investment Trusts have been up 176% over the last 10 years, which is a reasonable rate of return, and they currently trade at an average 13% discount to the value of their underlying assets. Annabel sees that discount to NAV as a buying opportunity.
