The Great Migration Serengeti 2023

Описание: This was a special experience that our safari tour group did not expect could happen this late in the season. It is the best I could do for coverage of the Crossing and Migration of a large group of Wildebeests in the Serengeti. We stayed away at respectable distances and had a chance to witness this dangerous, challenging and amazing event.

The river crossing seemed to be the most challenging for the Wildebeests because there are crocodile in the water. It is very hard to watch that a few of the crossing Wildebeests get caught by the crocodiles. Some also get swept down current but then many of them are able to overcome these challenges and make it to the other side, even if further down current than they expected.

An amazing point in this crossing happens when we notice a large number of Wildebeests cross back into the river past the crocodiles. We don't know why but we expect it may be because they have family members that stopped crossing and they went back for them.

Then we see a number of Wildebeests attempt the crossing again, despite the dangers. And finally the remaining Wildebeests leave the river to make another attempt at a different time. There seemed to be thousands of Wildebeests on our side of the river in the long Migration journey after they had crossed the river.
