*Please note*: In order to achieve the required safety integrity level SILr / performance level PLr in applications that use Sine-/Cosine encoders and require vector length monitoring as a diagnostic tool, the reliability bits (reliability speed and reliability relative position) in the motion data of the corresponding signal are crucial. A false (unreliable) signal of these bits must lead to a safe shutdown of the system.
A subsequent Speed-/ Position Cross Check function block does not evaluate the "reliability relative speed or reliability relative position" bit, as it is also designed for the comparison of two independent, non-safe encoders. For non-safe encoders, the "reliability relative speed or reliability relative position" signal is never set. Therefore, an explicit consideration in the logic is required.
