This ham and cheese sauce is a true all-rounder and incredibly quick to prepare! Whether paired with pasta, tortellini, rice, potatoes, or as a base for a hearty casserole – this creamy sauce guarantees success for any dish. It's also perfect for using up leftovers from your fridge.

Ingredients (for 4 servings):
1 onion
200 g ham
3 wedges of processed cheese
500 ml heavy cream (or Cremefine)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp paprika powder
Salt and pepper (to taste)
2 slices of cheese
Fresh parsley
Preparation
Prepare the onion and ham:
Finely dice the onion (brunoise).
Cut the ham into thin strips (julienne).
Sauté:
Heat olive oil in a pan.
Sauté the onion until translucent.
Add the ham and briefly fry until it develops a light roasted aroma.
Make the sauce:
Stir in the processed cheese until melted.
Pour in the heavy cream, rinse the cream container with a little water, and add to the pan.
Optionally, add chopped cheese slices and stir well.
Season and simmer:
Season the sauce with paprika powder, salt, and pepper.
Let it simmer on low heat until it thickens slightly.
Finish:
Chop the fresh parsley and stir it into the sauce.
Taste again and adjust the seasoning as needed.
