Описание: Beautiful, high spec O&K KONE escalators. And a lovely station!

We take a look round the DO Mollerbrucke station starting from the lower Stadtbahn platforms, watching a train / tram depart and then we have a POV ride on 6x O&K Kone RTV-HD-999SL escalators (from 2000) up to the central concourse, the S Bahn platforms, and the tall escalators upto the street exit. Finishing back at platform level.

** 2 of these escalators are reversible and change direction (two-way) and we ride them both up and down. In Dortmund there are many like this, you can tell if the little arrow symbols in their warning triangle are illuminated next to the handrail.

Dortmund Stadtbahn is a light rail / tram network which in many stations resembles a metro system. At this station there is a link to the S-bahn too which is why the station is an unusual but interesting design. I like the way the S-bahn platforms are also sub surface but uncovered, and the way that you can walk to ground level out of a side exit or go under to the centre concourse and then up the huge long escalator to the main road exit…

This station is on line U42 of the stadtbahn and S4 of the S-bahn. Many more Dortmund Stadtbahn stations are coming to here soon…
