If your ex doesn't want a relationship yet, then it can be frustrating and hope-dashing. But it doesn't mean that the two of you will never get back together again.

It just means that your ex is not ready to think about the future or anything defined like that just yet.

Your ex needs more of an emotional foundation built up between the two of you before they can feel comfortable about a future together with you.

For better or worse, you two broke up, and that is bound to leave some hurt feelings between the two of you.

And before your ex will ever consider getting back together with you, they need three things to happen.

1.) They need to know that they are not walking back into the same relationship that they walked out of in the first place.

2.) They need to know that interacting with you will be an enjoyable experience that will bring the two fo you closer together.

3.) They need to clear away any resistance or friction that is keeping the two of you apart such as a rebound relationship, long distance, or other practical concern.

Once this is in place, then there is a clear path toward getting back together.
