Hey there, fellow gamers! Today, I want to dive into the exciting world of bringing the power and gameplay of PCs into a handheld form factor. As a gaming enthusiast, the announcement of the steam deck left me buzzing with excitement. It reminded me of the thrill I experienced when the Nintendo Switch was first revealed seven years ago. For the longest time, it seemed like Nintendo was the only company taking handheld gaming seriously. However, with Steam proving that there's a market for more capable devices, we now have the ROG Ally and the Legion Go vying for a piece of the pie.

Now, before we jump into it, I just want to clarify that the Legion Go I'll be discussing today was purchased with my own hard-earned money from Best Buy. No company sent it to me as a gift, so you can trust that my thoughts are completely unbiased.

Instead of giving you a run-of-the-mill comparison of FPS counts or temperature performance, I'd like to provide you with my personal experience of actually using the device. I want to give you my genuine thoughts and opinions on the Legion Go after spending a solid 24 hours with it. However, please keep in mind that this is not a conclusive review. I still need more time to fully immerse myself in the device and form a concrete opinion. But for now, let me share my initial impressions after a day of gaming.

Let's start off with the Legion Go. To be honest, it's everything I hoped the ROG Ally would be, with a few asterisks. It boasts the same powerful processor and GPU as the Ally, the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme. However, I must admit that the Legion Go feels somewhat unfinished compared to its counterparts in terms of polish. The software feels rushed and confused, and for some reason, the graphics appear lower in resolution. It's puzzling that they equipped this device with a high-resolution screen but neglected to optimize the software's sharpness and resolution, resulting in a less visually appealing experience.

One of the most frustrating things about the Legion Go is the Legion Space feature. Instead of focusing on giving your games the spotlight, it bombards you with featured games and ads.
