Описание: Today I am taking the class of plus two biology chapter 9 Strategies for enhancement in food production in Malayalam which is chapter 9 of NCERT .In this video I am dealing with animal husbandry part 1

Animal husbandry:

Management of farms and farm animals
1. Dairy farm management:
Dairying is the management of animals for milk and milk products for human consumption.
a. Improve the milk quality and production
b. selection of quality breeds
c. proper care and hygiene
d. Mandatory veterinary visit.

2. Poultry farm management.

Poultry is the class of domesticated fowls used for food or for their egg production.

A breed is a group of animals related by descent and similar in characters, like general appearance, size, configuration.

Types of breeding
a. Inbreeding
b. Outbreeding

INBREEDING:- When the breeding is between the same breed.
Mating of more closely related individuals within same breed for 4-6 generations.
Advantages:
a. Inbreeding increases Homozygosity.
b. It exposes the harmful recessive genes that can be eliminated by selection.
c. It helps in the accumulation of superior Genes and elimination of less desirable genes.

Disadvantages :
a. Continuous inbreeding causes INBREEDING DEPRESSION.
It can be solved by a single OUTCROSS.

Outbreeding:-

Breeding of unrelated animals which may between individuals of same breed (but no common ancestors) or between different breeds (cross breeding) or different species( interspecific hybridization)

Controlled breeding experiments:
a. Artificial insemination
b. MOET
