Описание: There is one wooden grain elevator in Waldron, Saskatchewan. This former Saskatchewan Wheat Pool elevator is lettered for the Rusnak Brothers. Larger centers near Waldron are Melville and Yorkton. Waldron was established in 1909; its population is unknown, but the population in 2024 is approximately 15. Waldron was named after early pioneer settler Fred Waldron. The location and distribution of communities along a rail line were determined by the distance that farmers could economically haul their grain to local elevators by horse and wagon. Now, southeast of Waldron, Viterra has a large concrete elevator along the CN main line. Waldron was a creation of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, a forerunner of Canadian National Railways. It was named after the son of the British chairman of the company when the railway was pushed through the district in 1906-07.
